It has been 5 years since we were last in Bali, which was for our honeymoon. Since then, Bali has changed a lot, becoming much more developed and modern. Every time I visit Bali, it feels so different to any other part of Indonesia. I was born and grew up in Jakarta and have been to quite a few different parts of Indonesia, but the atmosphere in Bali is unlike the rest. Before the 30 week milestone of my pregnancy, I was allowed by my doctor to travel overseas, so we decided to go to Lombok and Bali, two islands of Indonesia. Bali is where everything is happening, but if you get tired of the hustle and bustle, hop over to Lombok by boat or plane and you will find untouched beauty scattered all over the island.
During our 5 days in Lombok, we were so amazed by how beautiful this island is, although it is not as developed as Bali (yet). Lombok is relatively new to mainstream tourism, with the Indonesian government (via the Ministry of Tourism) only just starting to realise the potential of this island - however, it has been something of a rite of passage for backpackers for decades.
We were constantly surrounded by a blue sky, green hills, blue ocean, beautiful sunsets and amazing food. If you are interested in the accommodation or you would like recommendations from Lombok, feel free to shoot me an email at email@example.com.
My visit to Indonesia was very short, but Sam and I were determined to do as much as we could with my family, and of course sneak in a few photo shoots! During our visit to Bandung, West Java we stayed in GH Universal Hotel, and we were blown away by the architecture. I couldn't even wait to get our room key before starting to take some photos around the building.
